Should Michigan Grocery Stores Allow Dogs?
The topic of whether pets should be allowed in Michigan grocery stores is kind of complex. You have some people who insist on taking their pets everywhere they go, regardless of whether it's a support animal or not. Then you have people who are disgusted by the idea.
The other day, we saw a post in the Grand Blanc Uncensored Facebook group discussing this topic. Someone mentioned seeing a dog in a shopping cart at Sam's Club, and they were not happy about it.
Some man thought it was ok to put his dog in the cart at Sam's Club how is this allowed?
As you can imagine there were hundreds of comments and opinions.
Facebook user:
I truly don’t see an issue with this…It’s their pet. That dog being in the cart with them is much better than being in their car on a warm day like yesterday. Have some joy that their dog is safe and with them enjoying life in a Sam’s Club.
However, not everyone was optimistic about the idea of a dog being in a grocery cart.

I think it's disgusting and unsanitary!!!!!! Even worse they sleep in ppl beds.Facebook user:
I'm gonna start bringing my cats with me shopping so everyone can see how ridiculous it looks bringing animals to the grocery store for no reason.Facebook user:
Many dogs are cleaner than the children put in those carts, get over it!
As you can imagine, people went back and forth on the topic for quite some time. Heck, I think they still are.
What is Sam's Club's Policy on Pets in the Store?
According to their website, the company allows any animal trained to assist a person with a disability. There is no mention of allowing or not allowing pets that aren't considered support animals.
Personally, I'm not a big fan of people bringing pets into a grocery store, but I would never put up a big stink about it. I think it's more of a case-by-case scenario. I'm okay with people bringing their pets into Home Depot, just not Kroger or Sam's Club.
Pet owners need to realize that not everyone is comfortable around animals, especially big dogs. If your pet isn't a support animal, maybe it's best to leave them at home.
