The Good Fortune ship has set sail for the summer taking pirates-to-be on trips between Mackinaw City and Mackinac Island. This ship is pure Black Beard heaven with its skull-and-crossbones flag and wood design. The ship's crew keeps passengers busy with pirate songs and games to add a little more of the swashbuckler experience.

The Good Fortune, part of the well known popular Starline Ferry fleet, will offer five trips a day between the two locations that start around 9:00am. When the sun goes down the fun continues when they offer special family pirate cruises that takes a journey under the Mackinac Bridge. For those looking for some adults only fun, there is also special BYOB cruise that's appropriately called the "Nauti Pirate Cruise".

Keep in mind, although the ship is part of the Starline Ferry family, known for their speedy travel to the island, this mode of transportation will take a bit longer....after all, it is a pirate ship. If your are sailing with the pirates matey's you will need to allow about a half hour aboard The Good Fortune for your trip to, or from the island.

If you're ready to book your voyage on the high seas, you can get all the info and schedule details along with pricing on The Good Fortune on the  Star Line’s website here. Arrrrrrr

To find out, Stacker consulted data from WalletHub, released June 17, 2020, that compares U.S. beach towns. Ratings are based on six categories: affordability, weather, safety, economy, education and health, and quality of life. The cities ranged in population from 10,000 to 150,000, but they had to have at least one local beach listed on TripAdvisor. Read the full methodology here. From those rankings, we selected the top 50. Readers who live in California and Florida will be unsurprised to learn that many of towns featured here are in one of those two states.
