The new Saginaw County Jail is almost ready to begin operations and you can tour it now before it opens.

With construction now finished, the new Saginaw County Jail is set to be fully operational and in use in March. Before inmates are moved into the new facility, public tours are being given by the sheriff's office. You can get a first-hand look of the new $37 million facility until the end of February.

Tours begin each day at 4:30 pm until 6:30 pm. Keep in mind, there will be no tours offered on February 23rd and tours will be offered from 1 pm to 4 pm on Saturday the 22nd and 29th. Each tour lasts around 15 minutes and now reservations are required.

If you plan on taking a tour on the new Saginaw County Jail, the sheriff's office will not allow any purses, bags, weapons, cell phones, or photography equipment in the facility.
