Seniors 65 and Up Are Next For COVID-19 Vaccinations
COVID-19 vaccinations have started being administered around Michigan but you'll have to be high on that priority list in order to receive one.
This makes a ton of sense. COVID-19 has been shown to have more complications in older people. Also included in the first wave of vaccines are front-line medical workers and other essential workers.
“We would start with the more elder ones, like 75 and older, and people who are very sick, who are taking immune-suppressed and have certain diseases. But certainly, 65 and older would be considered high risk as well,” said Dr. Elhwairis.
Doctors have also said that they don't know exactly how many doses they will receive in Michigan. So setting a date as early as possible is important.
I honestly hope we can turn 2021 into something more special than 2020, but in order to do that, we have to work together.
