Good news, the Genesee County Health Department has announced that they have been given approval to partner with six school districts in Genesee County to become COVID vaccination sites.

According to Mid- Michigan Now, When a coronavirus vaccine becomes available to the public, the following school districts have agreed to become pod locations:

  • Flint
  • Davison
  • Flushing
  • Grand Blanc
  • Lake Fenton
  • Mt. Morris

It's unclear at the moment what schools will be used specifically for the vaccinations sites but at least this is a start. There will be other sites aside from the school district but those have not been announced just yet either.

Money that will be coming from COVID Relief Fund will be used for vehicles to transport vaccines and material to and from these pod sites.

It's also unclear exactly when this whole process will begin, From what I understand, the majority of us won't be able to get our shots until spring, possibly even June. I'm really hoping that it ends up being sooner than that.

According to CNN, the first to get the vaccine will almost certainly be 21 million frontline health care workers, support staff and 3 million residents of long-term care facilities who have been hardest hit by the pandemic....and rightfully so.

Will I get a vaccine shot when it becomes available? Hell yes, I will. It's truly the only way we're going to get out of this giant mess we're in right now.
