‘Spread The Cheer’ Campaign – Help Out A Locally Owned Business, And Yourself
This is a great opportunity to help out a locally owned business, and yourself this holiday season. The Flint and Genesee Chamber of Commerce is issuing a 'Spread the Cheer' campaign to encourage people to shop locally. Need some incentive? How about scoring a $500 gift card? It can happen.
According to ABC 12, you can nominate a locally owned Genesee County business by clicking here. Nominate a business that means a lot to you, one that you want to encourage people to shop at and or patron over the holiday season. Beginning Monday, November 23rd, random drawings will occur for five weeks. Each one of the five businesses that are selected will win $1000 dollars, and the people that nominated the businesses will each receive a $500 Visa gift card. The official entry page statement reads as follows,
If you could give some extra love to any independently owned business in Flint and Genesee County this holiday season, which would it be? Let us know and if you’re among five randomly selected winners, we’ll present the business with $1,000 to put toward the expenses of their choosing. What’s more, you’ll get $500 to put toward your holiday shopping budget.
How awesome is that? Like I said, help out a locally owned business, and help yourself. It is a total win win. Most importantly this campaign is a great reminder for us all to shop locally. Also keep in mind the local businesses that are not able to have their doors officially open, be sure to check their websites for online sales. Thank you in advance, and good luck to you.
