Update: Former Guns N' Roses drummer Steven Adler announced Wednesday (July 3) that he's "alive and well" in a video statement on Facebook, blaming "media confusion" over reports that a stab wound he recently suffered was painted as a possible suicide attempt. Watch the video and read the original report below.

Earlier today, TMZ reported that former Guns N' Roses drummer Steven Adler had been taken to the hospital last night (June 27) after stabbing himself in the stomach. A representative on behalf of Adler now claims the injury was an accident.

A few hours ago, TMZ received word from one of Adler's reps, who claimed the injury was not intentional and the wound was "very minor" and "superficial." They also commented on his sobriety, saying it has been steady for years.

The initial report stated that a 911 call was received from the drummer's home after 6:30pm last night, and when paramedics and police arrived they found he had been stabbed in the stomach. No one else was at the scene.

Adler was taken to the hospital with "non-life-threatening injuries" and the incident was treated as a medical emergency. After citing his prior struggles with substance abuse and depression throughout his life, people began speculating that the injury was a self-inflicted suicide attempt.

We're glad to hear he's doing okay. His July 12 gig in Las Vegas will take place as scheduled.
