Yes, you read that right. Starting in September, Subway will begin selling a "meatless" meatball sub in select stores are the United States and Canada.

Subway is now partnering with Beyond Meat to bring you the new sandwich called the Beyond Meatball Marinara Sub. The sub will come with all your favorites as the original including marinara sauce, provolone cheese, and Parmesan. The only difference will be the first-ever Beyond Meatball, made specifically for Subway.

To be honest, I'm not sure how I feel about this. I have had quite a few meatless "meat" products over the years. Some were terrible, others were spot on. I understand that Subway is working to make all of their customers happy with their options, which all businesses should. However, I feel that every day we get one step closer to that scene from the Matrix. We are just going to end up eating a bowl full of sludge made to taste like real food. Why? We already have real food. Why can't we just eat it?
