It's July, which means we are in the sports doldrums.  The good news is that sports, much like herpes, never really go away.  Thoughts on Tiger Woods, Dwight Howard's bitch ass, and the deepening Penn State story.

Now that the NBA Finals are over, America can finally turn back to it's favorite summertime past time,  waiting for football season to start.  Until we get there though, let's talk Tigers, Pistons and why the guilty verdict in the Jerry Sandusky case should just be the beginning.

The rivalry between Michigan and Michigan State football is more intense than ever, especially when you consider the recent success of Sparty and the fact that the all-time record belongs to the Wolverines.  Brady Hoke is well aware of both facts and he recently spoke out about the rivalry.

College football will be here before you know it, and fans of both Michigan and Michigan State both have reasons to be excited. The Spartans and the Wolverines have been productive this off-season are seem ready to make a run at both the Paul Bunyan Trophy and the Big Ten Title.

Michigan State Football fans may Sparty a little harder, as Green and White legend, NFL star, and Flint native, Andre Rison will be returning to East Lansing to help coach the Spartans and to finish his degree.

Over the past 4 years, the so called little brother, Michigan State has beat Michigan in football, and Spartan head coach, Mark Dantonio isn't about to let anybody forget it.  Let's get the college football smack talking started.

They say everybody gets a second chance, and in the case of Spartan Basketball star Derrick Nix, they'd be right. The Michigan State Athletic Department and Spartan Head coach, Tom Izzo have suspended Nix for a week, but the returning senior will not be released from the team. Check out the details.
