Take Your Dog for a Dip at This Popular MI Wave Pool This Weekend
It may feel like the unofficial end to summer in Michigan with Labor Day weekend now behind us. However, there is still one more weekend of summer fun that you and your pooch can enjoy...mainly your pooch.
This weekend a popular wave pool in Waterford is hosting a dog swim event to officially wrap up the season.

Dogs from all over Michigan will get to enjoy a day at Waterford Oaks Wave Pool before they empty it out for the winter. I sure hope they have a heck of a pool filter that can handle all the dog hair.
When is the Dog Swim Event This Weekend?
According to Fox 2 Detroit, this year's dog swim will be held on Saturday, September 9 from noon to 2:30 p.m. The event will be broken up into timeslots based on the dogs' weights, with a limit of 75 dogs per session:
- 12-12:50 p.m. - Dogs 70 pounds and larger
- 1-1:50 p.m. - Dogs 31-69 pounds
- 2-2:50 p.m. - Dogs 30 pounds and smaller
Can You Preregister Your Dog for Saturday's Swim?
Yes, you can preregister your dog for $10 which you would need to do by today (September 6). You can call 248-858-0916 to register ahead of time. With the event only running 2 1/2 hours, you know it's going to fill up fast. If there's room, it'll cost $15 on the day of the dog swim.
Keep in mind that you will be required to show your dog license and you'll need proof of vaccinations.
