Ten Genesee County Bars We Miss Hanging Out at for Thanksgiving
Who remembers partying at these bars on the night before Thanksgiving back in the day?
Times have definitely changed over the last 20 years. Back in the day, the night before Thanksgiving was the biggest bar night of the year. Every bar and nightclub in town would throw a massive party and everywhere was packed. That is definitely not the case nowadays.

Twenty years ago, the nightlife in Flint and Genesee County was filled with endless options to go out and have a drink and party with friends. Now it is hard to even find a place that is open later than 10 pm. There are only a few places that actually stay open until 2 am at this point.
I miss the days of big parties on the night before Thanksgiving. Working in radio back then was a blast and it wasn’t uncommon to host two or three, sometimes even more, live broadcasts from different places around town. The night was filled with contests, giveaways, plenty of booze, and so much more.
Since then, nightlife in the area has been on a slow decline and we can all blame the internet for that. Back in the day, when you wanted to meet people you actually had to go out and be proactive about it. If the fellas wanted a girl's phone number, you had to work for it in hopes you would get the digits at the end of the night.
Kids today are just lazy and don’t even have to work for anything anymore. Now all they have to do is swipe a few pictures in an app, wait for a bite, and that’s it. Grab a case of High Life and you are off to the races. It’s sad.
Either way, this old bitter man still loves to reminisce about the good ole days and relive memories. Which of these bars did you party at back in the day? What places are missing from the list? Let us know in the comments so our kids can see that we were actually cool once.
