Once Popular Restaurant Chain Closing 12 Locations Including Michigan
It's been a rough year for the world of retail and restaurants, with countless stores and chains closing their doors. Now, another once-popular restaurant is set to close 12 locations, including one of the four that remain in Michigan.
This once-popular restaurant chain used to be the go-to spot to mingle if you were single.
Back in May, we told you how TGI Fridays was planning to close 36 underperforming locations in 12 states. At the time, Michigan wasn't one of those states. That's not the case anymore with the company's recent announcement of more closures.
According to WNEM, the company, which has been around for nearly 60 years, also revealed it would be closing an additional 30+ locations in the United Kingdom.

I'll be totally honest, I didn't even know TGI Fridays was still in business anymore much less right here in the state.
TGI Fridays Closures in the U.S.:
- Connecticut: Enfield
- Indiana: Schererville
- Michigan: Saginaw Township
- Minnesota: Edina and St. Louis Park
- New York: Clifton Park, Middletown, and Poughkeepsie
- North Carolina: Charlotte
- Pennsylvania: Allenton
- South Carolina: Charleston
- Virginia: Leesburg
- Wisconsin: Grand Chute
According to the TGI Fridays website, it has four locations in Michigan still listed, including Saginaw (now closed), Grand Rapids, Southfield, and Grandville.
It's not looking good for TGI Fridays, and I would expect that at some point, we will end up losing the remaining Michigan locations as well.
At its peak, TGI Fridays had over 1,000 locations worldwide.
