The Black Keys have returned with their first new song since 2014. The new track, “Lo/Hi,” is a bluesy tune in the vein of Cream with classic ‘60s production.

Many fans are calling “Lo/Hi” a return to form for the rock band, who have been consistently putting out albums since 2002. The Black Keys released records every one or two years like clockwork, but after a three-year wait between El Camino and Turn Blue, the band is set to end their longest dry spell to date.

“I wake up every day and I’m like, ‘I can’t believe the shit Dan and I accomplished.’ But every day, it feels further and further away, even though it’s only been a year and a half,” Patrick Carney told Rolling Stone while on a break in 2017. “I was talking to [Arcade Fire’s] Win Butler and some other musicians, and I was, ‘What the fuck, we haven’t played a show in a year and a half!’ and they’re like, ‘Dude, every time we put a record out we take a year and a half off. You need to chill out.'”

A new album hasn’t been announced from the Black Keys just yet and no tour dates are currently scheduled, but stay tuned as news from the Black Keys continues to roll in.
