Walmart and Sam’s Club to Require Masks Nationwide Starting July 20
A lot of people were complaining after Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed an executive order last week mandating everyone to wear a face-covering when they are inside a public space which went into effect this past Monday, July 13th.
It was kind of a waste of time to complain about the governor signing that executive order since Walmart and Sam's Club are going to require face masks anyway along with other companies.
According to USA Today, Walmart and Sam's Club will start requiring masks at stores and clubs nationwide starting July 20.
The companies' chief operating officer had this to say about the new policy:
We know some people have differing opinions on this topic. We also recognize the role we can play to help protect the health and well-being of the communities we serve by following the evolving guidance of health officials like the CDC.
Walmart and Sam's Club are following other companies that already require customers and employees to wear face masks including Best Buy and Starbucks. I'm sure we'll see a lot more of this in the coming weeks.
If you're someone that chooses to stand your ground and not wear a mask then I suggest shopping online. Of course, that can become a big pain when shopping for groceries. I mean, you could always just throw one on, it really is that simple.
