Here we go again. Another animal abuse case that’s honestly hard to wrap your head around. This one out of Warren comes right after we just told you about nearly 40 dogs found living in similar conditions inside a Detroit home.

And yeah, it gets worse. Police say the woman wasn’t just neglecting animals, she was also allegedly selling drugs out of the same house.

According to MLive, a narcotics investigation led them to a house near East 9 Mile and Schoenherr last week. What they found inside wasn’t just drugs. It was a full-on animal nightmare.

What Police Found Inside the Warren Home

A 57-year-old Warren woman was allegedly selling crack cocaine out of the home. During the search, detectives also found 20 dogs total, including adult dogs and puppies, along with four turtles. And no, this wasn’t some sweet rescue situation. The house was filthy, and several of the animals clearly needed medical help right away.

The woman was arraigned on drug charges and felony animal cruelty involving ten or more animals.

Macomb County Animal Control stepped in and got all of the animals out of there. The good news is they’re safe now and finally getting care. The not-so-good news? This is a huge strain on the shelter, especially with nursing puppies involved.

How You Can Help the Animals Rescued in Warren

Now the shelter is asking the community for help. They’re looking for donations to their emergency medical fund, along with basic items like blankets and towels, through their Amazon wish list.

This is one of those situations where it’s pretty hard not to want to help.
