Michigan Police Officer Delivers Fawn After Doe Struck In Crash
A Michigan police officer delivered a newborn fawn after its mother was killed in a car crash in Oakland County.
White Lake Township Police Officer Frank Wright responded to a deer-vehicle crash call at 10:30 PM on Tuesday, May 6th, 2025. Once on the scene, it was discovered that the doe involved in the crash was pregnant.
Unfortunately, the doe did pass, but Officer Wright was able to deliver the fawn.
I'm not crying; you're crying.
Can this story get any more Michigan? Yep. The accident and birth happened on Highland Road, near a Meijer store. The midnight shift workers at the White Lake Township Police Department named the baby fawn 'Meijer' because of where he was born.
Again, to be clear, I am not crying; you're crying.
According to a post on the White Lake Township Police Facebook page, sweet baby Meijer was to be picked up from the police station by an unnamed wildlife rehabilitation center.
I would love to make a donation toward the care of Meijer the fawn. If anyone reading this knows which wildlife rehabilitation center Meijer is at, please let me know.
You can see how sweet Meijer is in the photos below.
Shout out to White Lake Township Police Officer Frank Wright for bringing Meijer into the world. You, sir, are indeed a hero.
Thank you for going above and beyond, and to the additional White Lake Township Police officers who helped care for Meijer.
Now, that is pure Michigan.
