12 Year Old Michigan Boy Charged After Threatening to Shoot Up School
A 12-year-old Michigan boy is currently sitting in a juvenile detention center after he allegedly threatened to shoot up his South Lyon Middle School.
According to The Detroit News, two classmates at Centennial Middle School overheard the 12-year-old boy on Monday saying he would bring an AK-47 the next day "and shoot it up." The students then did the right thing and told their teacher right away.
Yesterday the boy was charged with one count of a false terrorism report, a 20-year felony.
I don't know what was going on at school that day or what was going on with this kid but there's no excuse for a child to ever threaten shooting up his school. Even if he didn't truly mean what he saying (not sure if that's the case), you still can't say that crap.
A disposition hearing on the charge will be held in October, with the date to be determined.
