Brutal – Michigan Man in Wheelchair Killed While Crossing Street
It was a tragic scene in Ann Arbor earlier this week when an SUV driven by a woman struck a man in a wheelchair. Sadly, his injuries were so severe that he later passed away. So, let’s break this down and tell you what we know.
According to WXYZ, a 79-year-old man in a wheelchair was trying to cross the street at N. Fourth Avenue and E. Huron Street in Ann Arbor. Around midnight, he had the right-of-way and started crossing once the light changed. That’s when a woman in a white SUV plowed into him. Un-freaking-believable, right?
What we've heard so far is already tragic, but it gets worse. Not only did this woman hit the man, but she also fled the scene. I know it's hard to imagine how someone could knowingly hit a person with their vehicle and then just drive off.

I know what you're thinking. It was late at night. What if she didn't realize she hit someone? Well, we know she was fully aware of what happened because she eventually turned herself in to the police. Yeah, she knew exactly what she did, and she still fled the scene.
Was alcohol involved? That’s what investigators are looking into while she sits in the Washtenaw County Jail.
When I first heard about this, it really bothered me, and it still does. A man in a wheelchair was killed for doing nothing more than crossing the street at the wrong time. And let’s not forget the cowardly move the driver made by driving off.
