Ann Arbor’s Psychedelic Shroom Fest Gets Approved for This Weekend
Last month I told you about a psychedelic mushroom festival that was in the works for this weekend in Ann Arbor. Well, they officially got the green light to make it happen.
According to MLive, the University of Michigan has OK’d a student group’s request to reserve the Diag off State Street for the entheogenic plant and fungi festival known as Entheofest.
The goal of the Entheofest is to increase the awareness and understanding of the benefits of psilocybin mushrooms and other psychedelic plants. This is going to be more of an education festival. When people hear about this, they immediately assume people are going to just be hanging taking mushrooms. That's not going to be the case here. There's going to be speakers, musical entertainment, educational booths and activist organizations.
Entheofest is being organized by Decriminalize Nature Michigan and the Student Association for Psychedelic Studies.
Chuck Ream of Decriminalize Nature Michigan:
It’s historic. This is the first ... real psychedelic fest like this and a lot of people are going to be coming. People are coming in from all over the country. It’s going to be a bigger crowd than we thought. We’re getting really excited about it.
When is the festival?
The event will take place on Saturday, September 19th from 11:11 am to 2:22 pm. I'm sure there's some sort of significance to the weird time frame that it's being held, but I'm unaware.
Where will Entheofest take place?
The event will take place on the University of Michigan Diag ( UofM campus on the steps of the Hatcher graduate library). If you've ever been to Hash Bash, you know exactly where it's at.
