For months, we’ve been sharing Big Lots’ struggles and their ongoing store closures, and now the retail giant has announced yet another round of shutdowns, leaving Michigan shoppers wondering which stores might be next.

The company just announced another 19 closures nationwide. This latest list of locations, which spans eight states is part of its Chapter 11 bankruptcy process. We were originally told the company would be closing around 315 stores but that number has increased and at this point, we've lost track.

How Many of the 19 Stores Closing Are in Michigan?

With this round of store closures, there’s some good news for Michigan customers. According to Newsweek, the closures include five stores in California, three in Texas and Oregon, two in Florida and Nevada, and one each in Georgia, Idaho, Arizona, and Washington.

This time around, it doesn’t look like Michigan will have to worry about Big Lots closing any stores, which is a relief since we were hit the last time the company announced closures.

Here's a look at the 11 Michigan stores that were part of their previous cuts:

  • Big Rapids: 750 Perry Ave
  • Coldwater: 373 N. Willowbrook Rd.
  • Holland: 2353 N. Park Dr.
  • Howell: 3669 E. Grand River Ave.
  • Kentwood: 4254 28th St. Se
  • Lansing: 5625 W. Saginaw Hwy, Unit 1
  • Madison Heights: 32399 John R Rd.
  • Okemos: 2020 Grand River Ave.
  • Petoskey: 1401 Spring St.
  • Portage: 6207 S. Westnedge Ave.
  • Ypsilanti: 2850 Washtenaw Ave.

Earlier this year, the company still had around 1,300 stores, but with all these closures, that number keeps dropping as Big Lots tries to keep its head above water.
