Yikes! Major Discount Retailer Announces Closure of 10 Michigan Stores
It seems like Michigan retailers and restaurants are announcing major closures every week. That's because, lately, they have been.
There are several reasons why we're seeing this, including economic challenges, changing consumer habits, and increased competition.
Last month, we told you that Big Lots was planning to close 35-40 stores by the end of 2024, which we believe is part of a larger plan to close 300 locations. Now, they are staying true to their word, as the discount retailer has announced closures in Arizona, Florida, Indiana, Michigan, New York, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.
According to the Detroit Free Press, the company is planning to close 10 of the 46 locations in Michigan.
