Buc-ee’s Billboard in Michigan, What Does it Mean?
A Buc-ee's billboard in Michigan has been creating quite a buzz because this is a state where the extremely popular gas station doesn't exist.
It's got Michiganders wondering why it was put up along Interstate 96 near Lowell. The billboard was erected earlier this spring, and while the message is visible and clear, some residents are wondering if there isn't a deeper hidden meaning behind it.
The billboard which sits between Grand Rapids and Lansing shows the Buc-ee's mascot and a message that reads, '444 Miles.' The message clearly indicates that the nearest Buc-ee's is 444 miles away in Kentucky. However, some believe the sign is also a hint that Buc-ee's may be coming to Michigan.
According to Wood TV, no state is off the radar as far as new locations are concerned. Jeff Nadalo, general counsel for Buc-ee’s said, "We’re looking everywhere. We’re eager to put our travel centers in places where we think people will appreciate and need it."
What is Buc-ee's?
Buc-ee’s, a Texas travel center chain, is known for its huge stores with 50,000-plus square foot buildings and over 100 gas pumps, as well as its clean bathrooms and tasty brisket sandwiches. Trust me when I say, those brisket sandwiches are to die for.
Buc-ee's is loved by some fanatics who are willing to drive hundreds of miles for a simple visit. For some, it's a travel stop on the way to a certain destination. For others, Buc-ee's is the destination.
Buc-ee's isn't the first company to advertise its businesses outside of the state where it's located. Bronner's in Frankenmuth has been advertising outside of Michigan for years. At one point, they had more than 60 billboards across seven states.
