What is going on in Genesee County lately? Why are so many bars and restaurants closing?

Over the last month, Genesee County residents have had to say goodbye to some of their go-to spots to grab a meal, meet up with friends, or just unwind. It feels like every week, another familiar place is closing its doors—and it's starting to feel like too many good places are disappearing.

In early October, we told you about how BD's Mongolian Grill in Flint had permanently closed. Then, we shared the news about the closure of Joe's Garage in Clio, followed by the closing of Mugshots Bar & Grill, also in Clio. Unfortunately, we're here with even more bad news.

According to reports on social media, The Burger Bar & Tap is closed.

Someone posted on the Grand Blanc Uncensored Facebook page, mentioning that the restaurant/bar on Fenton Road in Flint was closed.

We were just at Burger Bar & Tap yesterday, and then I heard they closed up today. So sad for the employees of so! We loved their Sunday brunches!

Another person confirmed the closure with her comment:

My company had our Christmas party there last year and called today to book it again for this year and they said they were permanently closing, effective today.

Several people confirmed the closure, with one person mentioning that another business was preparing to move in.

If you Google The Burger Bar & Tap, it shows that the restaurant is temporarily closed. Their website and Facebook page are down, so I think it’s safe to say they’re closed.
