Canadian Border Once Again Open to Fully Vaccinated Americans

Travel to Canada has reopened for fully vaccinated Americans.

As of this morning, (Monday, August 9th, 2021,) the Canadian border has reopened to non-essential travel. Now fully vaccinated Americans will be able to cross the US/Canada border, but documentation will be required.

What do travelers need to do to cross the border?

In order to get across the U.S./Canada border, travelers will have to do the following:

• Be 14 days past their final COVID-19 vaccine.
• Travelers will need to upload their vaccine and medical information within 72 hours of crossing.
• Bring a physical or electronic copy of a vaccine card for verification.
• Take a molecular test within 72 hours of crossing the border.
• Travelers with symptoms will be turned away.
• Border agents may randomly select travelers for another COVID-19 test upon arrival.
• Unvaccinated kids 12-years-old and younger will be allowed to cross with a parent but will be tested on their 1st and 8th days in Canada.
