A former Genesee County meteorologist is back on the Flint airwaves.

Fans of Christina Burkhart will be pleased to see her return to ABC 12; however, it's not permanent.

After ten years in Flint, the popular meteorologist said farewell in October 2024 (video below), and ABC 12 recently announced via Facebook that she will temporarily fill in for Chief Meteorologist JR Kirtek.

Christina Burkhart will be on the rest of this week, Tuesday, April 29th, 2025, through Friday, May 2nd, 2025.

You can catch Christina's weather forecast at 4:00 PM, 5:00 PM, 6:00 PM, and 11:00 PM.

I did notice in the comments on the post above that people were questioning if JR Kirtek was indeed returning to ABC 12, and from all accounts, he is.

To say that ABC 12 viewers are thrilled to see Christina Burkhart back on the air is an understatement. Every comment I read about her filling in this week has been positive.

I am still curious to find out what former ABC 12 news anchor Matt Franklin is doing (or will be doing) career-wise since stepping away from the news desk in March of this year.

You may also recall that WNEM TV-5 morning news anchor Blake Keller signed off in early April 2025 after six years on the air

As mentioned above, it's great to see a familiar face back on the local news, even if only temporarily.

Welcome back, Christina.

12 Animals You Must Report If You Hit Them in Michigan

Ever hit an animal while driving in Michigan? Well, it turns out some of them need to be reported. We'll break down the animals you have to call in if you hit them. It’s not just about doing the right thing; it’s also about avoiding any legal issues.

So, who do you call? If you hit one of these animals, you’ll want to contact the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) or local law enforcement. If it’s an actual emergency, call 911; otherwise, just dial the non-emergency number. They’ll handle the situation and make sure everything's squared away. Just don’t forget to report it.
