Hold up, before you reach into your freezer for that frozen corn dog or sausage on a stick, you'd better make sure it’s not part of the latest recall.

About 58 million pounds are being recalled nationwide because pieces of wood may have gotten mixed in the batter. Yep, there may be wood in those corndogs. The USDA says several people have already been injured.

We’re talking about State Fair Corn Dogs on a Stick and Jimmy Dean Pancakes and Sausage on a Stick. Both come from Hillshire Brands, which Tyson Foods owns.

The problem came to light after a bunch of consumers started complaining, with at least five people actually getting hurt.

There must be some serious wood on those corn dogs if people are actually being injured. Tyson says it all traces back to one plant in Haltom City, Texas, and that they pulled the plug on these products out of what they call “an abundance of caution.”

The recalled items were made between March 17 and as recently as this past Friday. And it’s not just grocery stores or online orders we’re talking about; these also went out to schools. So yeah, there’s a good chance they’re sitting in freezers all over the country right now.

If you’ve got either of these products at home, check the packaging for establishment numbers EST-582 or P-894. If they match, toss them or return them to where you bought them. You can check out the complete product list here.
