With the November election right around the corner, some venues in Detroit are prepared to help.

The Michigan Secretary of State is partnering with the Detroit Tigers and Red Wings for the upcoming presidential election. Little Caesars Arena will be used in the upcoming months as a training venue. The home to the Red Wings will host more than 6,000 volunteer election workers and give a safe, centralized training location in September and October.

Comerica Park will also be helping out for the election and is made available to host a ballot drop box if the city needs more locations. Both the Detroit Tigers and the Detroit Red Wings will also offer up their social media platforms. The teams will share information about the election including voter registration, voting by mail, volunteer opportunities, and more.

It is not only the Tigers and the Red Wings taking action, the Pistons and the Lions are offering up support as well. The Lions will be giving their staff a paid day off on election day so they can serve as election workers and assist in election day operations and more. The Detroit Pistons have also offered up their new practice facility for voting efforts as well.

As we are in probably one of the craziest and volatile years ever, it is so important that we vote. It is great to see some of the biggest companies and our sports teams stepping up to offer help amidst the dumpster fire that is 2020. Nice work Detroit!
