Busted: Flint Driving School Suspended for Falsifying Records and Overcrowding
If you've been wondering why Flint has so many bad young drivers, we think we’ve found the answer.
In My Lane Driving School on West Court Street has officially been suspended after a state investigation revealed a bunch of serious violations. We're talking falsified records, overcrowded classrooms, and students who weren’t even eligible to be there in the first place.
The Michigan Department of State says the school also failed to maintain proper student records and blew past classroom capacity limits set by the fire marshal. Now, while the state digs deeper, the school isn’t allowed to operate at all.
This isn’t the first time something like this has happened in Michigan, either. According to Fox 2 Detroit, another school in Hamtramck was recently busted for allegedly passing students who didn’t even finish their course hours. So if it feels like the bar for getting a driver’s license has dropped...you’re not wrong. These days, that bar is sitting pretty low.

What to Do if You’re a Student or Have a Complaint
If you’re currently enrolled at In My Lane Driving School or your child is, and you have concerns about how things were run, you’re not totally stuck. You can reach out to the Michigan Department of State directly:

Got a complaint? You can file that with the state, too—don’t stay quiet if something doesn’t sit right.
Great, just what we need, more people on the road who never should’ve passed driver’s ed in the first place.
