What is Porch Fest?

Porch Fest is about art and music along West First Avenue and Mason Street. The residents of these homes have agreed to open their space to allow a community display of art, music and Flint culture for all to enjoy. Patrons are encouraged to bring their own blankets and enjoy a picnic style dinner. Feel free to bring your own food, or purchase tacos on site. Hours are 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

Are there additional activities/

Yes! There will be plenty to do, see and enjoy. Porch Fest will feature the following,

  • Sound healing
  • Yoga
  • Visual art displays
  • Dance performances by Magick in Motion
  • Drumming by Famadou Collins & Djembefola featuring Kuungana
  • Music by Carriage Town and Flint musicians
  • Vending area

 Is Porch Fest a kid friendly event?

It is. There will be a Kid Zone on site featuring the following,

  • Face-painting
  • Ice cream
  • Bean bag toss
  • Corn hole
  • Ladder ball
  • Yard Yahtzee
  • Croquet
  • Chalk art by Andy Ellard
  • Storytelling by Alfreda Harris

Do I need to purchase a ticket to attend?

No. Great news, this is a free even. Free parking is available as well at the Genesee County Historical Society, located at 316 West Water Street in Flint.
