Ford, GM and Tesla May Start Manufacturing Ventilators for COVID-19 Patients
It's a move that's very reminiscent of our country's world wars.
In a statement that was released on Wednesday night, Ford said that they are looking into producing ventilators in their facilities to deal with the COVID-19 shortage.
"As America's largest producer of vehicles and top employers of autoworkers, Ford stands ready to help the administration in any way we can, including the possibility of producing ventilators and other equipment. We have had preliminary discussions with the US government and are looking into the feasibility."
83 Ford and GM factories have been temporarily shut down. Tesla has also pledged to help with the shortage of ventilators. The CEO of GM has been in touch with the White House to discuss manufacturing medical supplies if needed.
