Last night the folks that work at Fox 2 Detroit were informed that one of their colleagues and friend had committed suicide.

According to Fox 2 Detroit, meteorologist Jessica Starr took her own life, leaving behind a husband and two children.

Starr was a Michigan native with one of her meteorology degrees from Michigan State University. She also worked in Lansing in 2005 as a part-time weekend meteorologist with WLNS-Channel 6.

It's heartbreaking to hear about anyone taking their life but it's even more brutal on the heart when it happens around the holidays. To think her kids have to spend Christmas without their mother is the absolute worst.

It's very obvious from the video below that she was extremely loved by her team at Fox 2 and their viewers.

Our hearts go out to her family, friends and those she worked with at Fox 2 Detroit.
