Another woman has died while in custody at the Genesee County Jail, and it hits a little harder because this is now the second time it’s happened in a month.

What Happened to the Female Inmate at Genesee County Jail?

According to ABC 12, the woman died on Thursday, April 23, after suffering a medical emergency while she was being held at the jail.

They’re not saying exactly what the emergency was, and they haven’t released her name or what she was being held for.

Officials say staff stepped in once they realized she was in distress, and they’re claiming she was never denied medical care at any point.

Second Female Inmate Death at Genesee County Jail in Just Weeks

That’s the part that’s tough to ignore.

Another female inmate died at the Genesee County Jail on March 23, exactly one month earlier. At the time, Sheriff Chris Swanson said the death didn’t appear to be suspicious, but never explained what actually happened.

Now, with two deaths happening this close together, people are starting to ask questions.

Yes, but like most of these cases, we don’t know much yet.

Look, deaths in custody do happen…especially when medical issues are involved. But when it happens twice in a short window at the same place, it’s not something people are just going to shrug off.
