Last season, Grand Blanc's Dan Banura made it all the way to the city finals of 'American Ninja Warrior' before a heartbreaking slip-up ended his run. His second attempt at becoming the titular champion begins tonight at 8p on NBC.

Dan had a great run on the competition series, which features athletes and regular folks alike tackling a grueling series of obstacles, in hopes of climbing Mount Midoriyama for $1,000,000 and the title of 'American Ninja Warrior.' Last season was the first time a competitor made it all the way up the final obstacle, in fact -- two made it. Banura was not one of those two athletes, but his run was very impressive, nonetheless.

This year could be different, as anyone who follows Dan on Facebook can tell you -- he's been training a lot. He's constructed quite the course in his backyard, which feature a gigantic salmon ladder. I'm not exaggerating either -- look at this damn thing.

Dan is a Grand Blanc resident and father of four who works in home improvement when he's not training to be the next 'American Ninja Warrior.' Banura posted a brief preview of his run from tonight's upcoming show, but is unsure how much airtime he will get. These shows focus on the contestants that they have pre-produced bio segments on, rather than who has the best run. His uncertainty about airtime isn't really an indication of his success or failure on the course. We're hoping he gave 'em hell in Indianapolis and we'll be rooting for him tonight at 8p.
