Ice Volcanoes Are Real and They’re in Michigan
Have you ever heard of ice volcanoes? Me neither but apparently they're real and can be found right here in Michigan.
According to Fox 2, cones start forming on the edges of ice shelves as they build up out of the lake. And then when waves crash into the ice shelves, they can travel under and out of the cones, creating this unusual "eruption" of sorts.
I'm sure it's even cooler to see in person but I prefer to stay warm so we'll just have to settle with the photos that were tweeted. The photos are from Oval Beach which is located on the shores of Lake Michigan.
