A Michigan man is lucky to be alive, after a police shakedown took a turn for the brutal. Reports indicate that 57-year-old Floyd Dent was pulled over recently by two officers who, without provocation, choked and beat him into submission.

A video released by WDIV shows Dent being stopped and then dragged out of his car by two cops. Once of the officers puts Dent in a chokehold and then proceeds to punch him in the face 16 times, while a second cop attempts to put him in handcuffs. Minutes into the video, a third officer arrives and shoots Dent with a Taser three times. The report claims that a number of other officers arrived on the scene and watched him take the beating of his life.

A judge found the video did not show that Dent attempted to flee or assault police in anyway, and dismissed the charges. However, officers claim they found crack cocaine in Dent’s vehicle...those charges have not been dropped. However, Dent, who has held a job with Ford for nearly 40 years, says the cops planted the drugs. A blood test taken at the hospital revealed that he had no illegal substances in his system. One of the officers involved in the beating was charged in 2003 for planting evidence.

Watch the video and decide for yourself.
