Eat This: Flint Area’s 5 Best Pastrami Sandwiches
Every January we celebrate National Hot Pastrami Day around the middle of the month. These local spots around the Greater Flint Area are must-try places to celebrate (or pig out) on pastrami.
#1 Hoffman's Deco Deli & Cafe, Downtown Flint
Hoffman's is one of the best kept secrets in Genesee County. Their food is outstanding. When you crave pastrami, they do it with beef. The "Old School" is the basic pastrami sandwich, but you can amp up your game with "The Kremlin" which features ham & pastrami...or "The University" which includes corned beef with pastrami (my fav). Best part about the place -- you get a lot of food and won't break the bank.
#2 Omega Ham & Corn Beef Deli, Grand Blanc
Guests review this diner as having "best pastrami sandwich in the area." People rave about the giant size of their sandwiches, too. The Stacked Pastrami is the usual -- piled high on rye with swiss cheese, but the surprise MVPs are the "Delight" with slaw and Thousand Island Dressing and the Pastrami Reuben. You will leave full.
#3 Tony's I-75 Restaurant, Birch Run
Tony's is known for fantastic food (and serving a boatload of bacon). Their pastrami sandwich is served on grilled Italian Bread with their own deli sauce. One reviewer said the sandwich was so big "there was enough to eat for three days for me."
#4 Dagwood Deli, Lapeer
This 5-star review summed up the flavors and impression of Dagwood's pastrami, this way...
"Went there to get the pastrami sandwich. It was on point. I can unequivocally say without a fiber of doubt that this is the best pastrami sandwich I have had in my life. Five stars will continue to pay almost ten dollars for this TOP TIER sandwich. Gang bro, peace and love."

#5 Bear Soup Deli, Davison
Get to Downtown Davison for Bear Soup Deli's Pastrami Sandwich. It's piled high and the bread is always toast, not soggy. Grab a salad if you want to feel somewhat healthy. It's located just across the street from the Davison Hotel.
