When someone refers to Frankenmuth, you probably think of chicken and Christmas at the same time. That's understandable.

While they have other events like Dog Bowl Fest, a festival for hot air balloons, and other great restaurants that serve things other than famous chicken including the Best "Small Town" Restaurant in Michigan (no kidding)... Frankenmuth always finds a way to work Christmas into events throughout the year, too.

Christmas on the Cass

August 5th marks this year's Christmas on the Cass Lighted Kayak Parade. It's such a cool concept. The kayaks are lighted and travel under the famous covered bridge in Downtown Frankenmuth.

Registration isn't open yet, but we're watching closely for the info. It'll likely be posted on the Frankenmuth Parks & Recreation Outdoor Activities/Boating page.

The Heritage Park Kayak Launch is where the summer Christmas vibes will begin.

Is the Frankenmuth Christmas Kayak Parade at night?

Since the kayaks will be lighted (and full of Christmas cheer) the event will happen at 9pm according to their Facebook post. Registration prices, while not announced yet, will include a t-shirt to commemorate the event, too.

One can only wonder, will we see Santa and Mrs. Claus kayaking down the Cass River? Will Rudolph and the other reindeer somehow guide their kayak? Or, will the reindeer simply watch from the roof of the Frankenmuth Covered Bridge? We have so many questions.

One thing is for sure, it will be a great time for all.

This House in Saginaw Looks Just Like the One in 'Home Alone'

You'd swear this home on Michigan Avenue in Saginaw was the home used to film the movie 'Home Alone.'

It's not, of course, because that home is actually in the suburbs of Chicago.

According to the real estate listing, this Michigan home was built about 74 years before the movie debuted.
