Is Burton Getting Something New in the Old Bubba’s, Elwood’s Spot?
Burton was home to one of the best party spots in the "Bubba's" family of restaurants, Bubba O'Malley's. If you ever stopped by for St. Patrick's Day festivities... it was a guaranteed good time.
Following the closure of Bubba O'Malley's, Elwood's opened in 2017 only to close by the end of 2018. It's unfortunate in both cases as that's a high visibility area right off I-69 at Belsay Road.
In the last few years, a storage business opened behind the building on the massive open property.
Is something new coming to the old Bubba's, Elwood's in Burton?
Driving down Belsay Road the other day, it looked like people were hauling things out of the building.
Not sure if it's the present owners using it as a storage facility or not. Looks like patio furniture being hauled out.
Exactly Where is Downtown Burton?
Having just moved back to the area after 15 years away, it's sad to see that building and land in such poor condition.
Is the old Bubba's, Elwood's in Burton for sale?
Looking at real estate sites only says the property at 1076 Belsay Road Burton, MI is off the market. Following the closure of Elwood's, MLive reported the city was considering a request to make it a cannabis shop. That clearly didn't happen.
It's probably a pipe dream, but it would be fantastic if Bubba O'Malley's, Grand Blanc Inn, and Bubba's Roadside Inn could be resurrected. (Hint, hint business community.)
