These 33 Joann Fabric Stores Are Closing in Michigan—See the Full List
Joann Fabrics is moving forward with plans to close around 500 of its 850 stores, and now we have the full list of 33 Michigan locations shutting down.
Some Joann stores in Michigan have already started their going-out-of-business sales after the company behind the fabric retailer filed for bankruptcy for the second time in less than a year. It's been a rough few years for the company, which is too bad considering they've been around since 1943.
The good news for those looking to get a good deal is that those clearance sales aren’t ending anytime soon. According to USA Today, they could go on for several months. Basically, the company wants to sell as much as possible before closing for good.
I don’t do a lot of shopping at Joann’s, but once a year, I go in and buy a bunch of burlap to cover and protect my trees and shrubs in the winter. Looks like I’ll have to swing by one of the closing locations and try to score a clearance deal.
While the company is shutting down roughly 500 underperforming stores, the rest will continue operating as usual without interruption. So, of the 41 stores in Michigan, the remaining eight will stay open and continue serving customers as normal.
It's been a strange couple of years with so many longtime businesses shutting their doors for good. It really makes you wonder what other beloved places or popular chains might be next.
