List Of Michigan Stores Closed On Thanksgiving Day
Full disclosure, I have never been shopping on Thanksgiving Day. I have no interest in doing so whatsoever. My Thanksgiving Day consists of eating, drinking, watching the Detroit Lions, repeat. If my couch had wheels, I would leave the house (maybe). Until then, there will be no Thanksgiving Day shopping for me.
Maybe you are someone who enjoys shopping on Thanksgiving. Hey, if it gets you out of cleaning and cooking - do it. If you do plan on going, heads up turkey - there are quite a few popular Michigan stores that will not be open on Thanksgiving Day.
I have a feeling that list will grow every year. Life is too short to leave your family and shop on Thanksgiving Day. I get wanting to leave if your family is driving you nuts, but wouldn't you rather go to one of your friends and continue eating and drinking? Hey, my door is always open (unless you are trying to get me to go shopping).
Keep in mind there are a lot of local businesses that would appreciate your patronage this holiday season. Gift cards to use at area bars and restaurants make great gifts. There are also many unique shops throughout Genesee County and Lapeer County to find one-of-a-kind presents.
I wish you and your family a very Happy Thanksgiving. I am also wishing for a Detroit Lions victory. That is one thing I wish I could purchase on Thanksgiving Day - a win.
