Michigan Homes Facing Power Shut Off For Not Having Smart Meters [VIDEO]

I had no idea this was an issue and that people were refusing to have smart meters installed. I also had no idea people were being over charged for electricity after having one installed.

According to ABC12, millions of the smart meters have been installed across Michigan over the past decade. Utility companies say they are good for consumers because they provide more detailed usage information and eliminate the need for meter readers.

On ABC12's Facebook page I saw so many people commenting about how after getting one of these smart meters installed, their bills went through the roof. I never even noticed when mine was installed. One day I was cutting the grass and noticed my meter looked different but I never noticed a change in my bills.

Those that are refusing to have one installed could possibly have their power shut off. I didn't realize you even had the option. Obviously, I'm pretty clueless about the whole situation lol.
