Michigan Selfie Museum Opening This Weekend
I'm not really one to take selfies so I apologize if I come off as sounding like this new pop-up selfie museum is a bit ridiculous. Maybe I'm just too old and out of touch to understand the appeal. I mean, that is very possible.
This Friday Metro Detroit’s premier selfie museum and event space are opening their doors for the first time. The Pose Experience in Southfield is opening so you can enjoy their specially curated interactive photo installations in order to take your selfies to the next level (their words, not mine).
Apparently, customers take photos in front of 10 of their interactive exhibits including their donut, locker and telephone walls. You can either book to take some selfies or book their space for a private event.
I can tell you this, it's not cheap, not one bit.
- General Admission: $28 (12 and over only)
- Private 1-hr Photo Session (1-hr max): $250.00
- Private Parties: $300 per hour (three-hour minimum)
$28 seems like a lot of money to just go take some photos in front of decorated walls. Am I missing something here? I just don't get it. Why would somebody want to take a photo in front of a wall of donuts?
I appreciate people taking on new adventures and risks but this one seems a bit out there and doesn't have much to offer. I could be wrong and hopefully, I am. I don't want to see anybody fail but this seems like the recipe for failure.
I'm so out of touch with this kind of stuff that I bet there will be a line wrapped around the building with people just dying to get in there to take their selfies. For their sake, I hope that is what happens.
The Pose Experience, located at 15618 W. 10 Mile Road in Southfield.
