Movies Are Coming Back To The Capital Theatre Downtown Flint
Movies at the Capital Theatre in Flint are coming back on November 6th.
According to Flint Institute of Music CEO Rodney Lontine, the plan has been in motion since Governor Whitmer announced guidelines for indoor performing arts venues. Under the guidelines, the Capitol Theatre will operate at only 20 percent capacity. Lontine also said, staff will be training, and preparing the theatre to meet all safety guidelines.
Scheduled movies and times are as follows,
- Friday, November 6th - 'Remember the Titans' 7:00 PM
- Friday, November 13th - 'The Commitments' 7:00 PM
- Friday November 20th - 'Cool Hand Luke' - 7:00 PM
Ticket prices are as follows,
- Adult - $10 dollars
- Children - $3 dollars ( 12 & under)
- Genesee County Resident - $5 dollars
- Genesee County Resident Children - $1.50 (12& under)
Tickets will go on sale on Monday, October 26th, at the Capital Theatre ticket center. Hours of operation are Monday through Thursday, 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM and Friday, 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

Keep in mind, limited capacity, means less tickets sold. If you want to go, I recommend getting your tickets as soon as they go on sale, don't dilly dally - or most likely you will get shut out. Did I really just type 'dilly dally'? Christ, I sound like my mother.
If you do go, make a night of it downtown Flint. Have dinner before the movie, and drinks afterwards. There a plenty of options. My personal recommendation is Churchill's Food & Spirits. Do yourself a favor and try the Parmesan + Truffle fries, or the Short Rib Tacos - so good. They also have a great burger and pizza selection too. Enjoy!
