This time of year, you expect to see creepy decorations in your neighbor’s yard, not what residents saw in Royal Oak recently. The whole thing played out like a scene from a slasher film or something.

Police say an 83-year-old man was stabbed to death in the basement of a home on Sheridan Drive, and the suspect was seen running away with blood on her hands and completely naked.

It all went down Friday night in what neighbors say is a quiet, family-friendly area just off Woodward. According to FOX 2, officers found a 35-year-old woman outside with blood on her hands. A chilling scene for neighbors, for sure.

Police say the victim was related to the homeowner, who wasn’t home when it happened. They say the woman is a family acquaintance and possibly a nanny or caretaker. She was taken into custody but hasn’t been charged yet. At least as of writing this article.

It’s the freaky kind of story that makes you double-check your doors at night. A chill Royal Oak neighborhood that was turned into a real-life horror scene, and no one can quite wrap their head around why. Police are still investigating, but this one’s going to stick with neighbors for a while.
