A very scary moment took place this weekend in the Meijer parking lot on Tittabawassee Road in Saginaw. Thankfully, the quick actions of a bystander stopped a potential carjacking.

30-year-old Saginaw native Bobby Davis was finishing up grocery shopping with his mother and walking towards their car when he heard a blood-wrenching scream. Davis and his mother were witnessing a man trying to get in another woman's vehicle and decided it was time to take action.

Davis approached the car, then put the victim behind him and scared the would-be car thief. Another man came over to help Davis and they both held the man down until local police arrived on the scene.

After the incident, another woman came to the police and said that the same man tried to do the same to her earlier. The suspect is being held and will be arraigned in district court this week. This can happen to anyone at any time anywhere so be alert and know your surroundings.
