11 Must-Know Road Closures in Genesee County

We are smack dab in the middle of construction season in Michigan, where we see orange barrels, detour signs, and lots of frustrated drivers.

As much as we hate dealing with road construction, it needs to happen.

There's nothing more infuriating than finding out a road is closed only after you're already en route to your destination.

According to MDOT, these are the roads in Genesee County that are totally closed or have single-lane closures.

I-75 - NB I-75 from Court St to I-475 lane closed for maintenance (End 08/31/2024)
M-15 - NB M-15 (State Rd) from Lapeer to Lippincott left lane closed for construction (End 08/15/2024)
M-15 - SB M-15 (State Rd) from Lapeer to Lippincott left and right lanes closed for construction (End 08/15/2024)
M-21 - EB M-21 (Corunna Road) from Seymour Rd to Morrish Rd right lane closed for permit work (End 07/23/2024)
M-54 - NB/SB M-54 (Dort Highway) from Carpenter Rd to Coldwater Rd right lane closed for permit work (End 07/29/2024)

The goal is to have all road construction projects completed or put on hold by mid-November. Some projects could go longer if weather permits.
