Rolling Stones Mick Jagger & Ron Wood Enjoyed Some Down Time in Detroit
The Rolling Stones have been on the road with their No Filter Tour for months now, and they have been taking in the sights along the way.
Lead singer Mick Jagger has been infamously checking out local spots, most of the time unnoticed, and sharing his pictures on his Instagram. From Dallas, Las Vegas, and even a little local bar in North Carolina, Mick has been a bit of a tourist while on tour.
Monday night, November 15, the Rolling Stone descend upon the "D" to play Ford Field, so naturally Mick was out taking in all Detroit had to offer. Jagger posted a series of pictures to his Instagram showing off how he spent his day off before the show in Michigan.
Jagger shared shots of him in front of Ford Field, by the Stevie Wonder mural, posing with the famous monument to legendary fighter Joe Louis known as "The Fist", and even a little video enjoying the snow.
Jagger wasn't the only Rolling Stone to do a little sightseeing. Ronnie Wood headed out with his wife and several band members and backup singers to check out Motown Museum. According to the Detroit Free Press, Wood spent quite a bit of time exploring the museum and "was full of questions and anecdotes, asking about specific songs and insisting on stepping into the studio control room where so many classic hits hit the tape".
The Motown Museum, which is closed to the public until next summer as work continues on the museum’s $55-million expansion project, shared photos of the visit to their Instagram.
The Rolling Stones will continue on with their tour after Monday's Ford Field show wrapping things up they will play the final show of the North American leg of their No Filter Tour on November 23 at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino's Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida.
