
Tony Hawk Is Opening a Mexican Restaurant in Detroit
Skateboard legend Tony Hawk is teaming up with Detroit chef George Azar on a new Mexican restaurant venture.
The highly anticipated spot is A Toda Madre, located at The Shepard, 1265 Parkview Street in Detroit. According to Little Village Detroit, The Shepard is a former church that has been transformed into a cultural center featuring various exhibits, a wine and cocktail bar, and more.

The Detroit News reports that the upcoming restaurant will also feature a spacious terrace overlooking It Takes A Village Skatepark, a public skatepark located on the grounds of The Shepherd.
Did you know Tony Hawk and Detroit artist McArthur Binion designed the skatepark? It has become a must-visit destination for skateboarders, offering a unique place to ride while experiencing a one-of-a-kind piece of Detroit.

I am always excited when a new restaurant opens, and I’m especially looking forward to checking out A Toda Madre when it opens in 2027. I am always up for trying a new spot, and this one sounds like it will be a great addition to the Detroit dining scene.
