Looks like Atwood Stadium is going to get a little more use this year. In August, Carmen-Ainsworth, Grand Blanc, Flushing, Linden, Goodrich, and Burton-Bendle will compete against each other in the Classic.
I love the fact that Flint's Atwood stadium will no longer sit unused during the winter, due to the recent construction of a huge outdoor ice skating rink. According to ABC 12, it took 30,000 gallons of water and four truck loads to cover the rink and will be open to the public as soon as the water sets.
We can bitch and moan about how much Flint sucks, or we can do something about it. Atwood Stadium was built by the people of Flint in the 1920's and now the community is being called on to help restore it. This could be your chance to help in the restoration of our city.
