Anchorage, Alaska news reporter Charlo Green revealed that she would be committing all of her time to marijuana legalization efforts in dramatic fashion last night's 10p news broadcast.
Watching theses news bloopers makes me feel so much better about my job and all the times I've messed up on air. At least I don't have to worry about falling in a river, slipping on ice or having strangers run in the studio yelling profanity into the mic. All these do happen here though in the best news bloopers of February.
Our favorite part real newspeople is how often they unknowingly use suggestive headlines. The latest of those comes from Lansing's The State News, where a headline about a "Sausage Festival" was above a picture of a guy chowing down on a gigantic... well, just click through and see.
Sunday's (7/21/13) edition of The Flint Journal featured an unusual coupling of headlines on the front page -- one about the city's rising death toll and the other promoting a free trip... to the city with a rising death toll. Oops!
It seems like -- and excuse the pun -- there are wieners popping up all over local news lately. Flint's own Siobhan Riley became the latest "victim" when she accidentally drew a giant schlonger while describing the traffic situation live on WJRT - ABC-12.
Everyone makes mistakes, misspeaks, and basically looks like an a-hole from time to time. It happens to me on a daily basis. However, when it happens to news reporters on live television we get to see their reactions, as well as their co-anchors! Priceless!
Well, here is a good example of a terrible person, if you were looking for one. Investigators in a case involving a missing four-year-old decided they were probably actually investigating a murder case. News reporter Kay Burley felt the strange compulsion to tell volunteers who were searching for the child that she was probably dead...
